Antique Lanternier Limoges Porcelain Plate

$30.00

Not all Limoges is created equal — and the backstamp tells you why.

This 6" plate was produced by A. Lanternier & Co. of Limoges, France, between 1891 and 1914 — confirmed by the specific combination of backstamps on the reverse. What makes it particularly special is the circular decorator mark, which establishes that this piece was decorated inside the Lanternier factory workshop itself, not sent as a blank to an outside artist or studio. Factory-decorated Limoges from this period is the standard by which all other pieces are measured.

The decoration is everything you want from this era — clusters of pink and white roses with sage green foliage scattered across the well and border, a fine green ivy band framing the scalloped rim, and a gilt edge that catches the light beautifully. Delicate without being precious. Romantic without trying too hard.

Four available, sold individually. Good Antique condition with some wear as expected of a piece of this age.

Tucked inside every set, a little something for first time Tavola customers — a hand-finished vintage passport notebook. Note the piece, the moment, the person you gave it to. One day these pieces will sit in someone else's hands — and they'll know it came from yours.
