This one is above 20" tall — substantial enough to hold its own on a console, a nightstand, or a sideboard — with the full Rose Medallion treatment covering every inch of the curved vase body; court figures in richly detailed interior scenes, full-bloom peonies, butterflies, and floral vignettes separated by gilt-edged borders at the neck and shoulder.
Rose Medallion has been produced for Western collectors since the early 19th century. The pattern is hand-painted, which means no two pieces are identical — the figures, the florals, the fine details all shift from piece to piece. That's not a flaw. That's the whole point.
