Antique Upper Hanley Pottery Geisha Flow Blue Oval Platter

$150.00
Sold Out

Flow blue at its most commanding.

This 16" x 12" oval platter was made by Upper Hanley Pottery Co. Ltd of Staffordshire, England, between 1900 and 1911 — confirmed by the backstamp. The Geisha pattern is a classic chinoiserie transferware design: a central vignette of figures in a garden landscape with willow and flowering branches, framed by an elaborate border of lattice, scrollwork, and additional figural vignettes in the deep, bleeding cobalt that defines true flow blue.

The scalloped rim adds shape and formality. This is a large, impactful piece — the kind that anchors a gallery wall, commands a sideboard, or stops a room from across it.

Crazing is present and consistent with age and expected of a piece over a century old. Small chip to the back, not visible from the front.

Tucked inside every set, a little something for first time Tavola customers — a hand-finished vintage passport notebook. Note the piece, the moment, the person you gave it to. One day these pieces will sit in someone else's hands — and they'll know it came from yours.
