Waterford Crystal Twelve Days of Christmas Ornaments
An heirloom for the tree, one day of Christmas at a time.
Each of these Waterford Crystal ornaments belongs to the Twelve Days of Christmas series, a collection inspired by the classic carol and issued one ornament per year. The series began in 1982 with the Partridge in a Pear Tree, then resumed in 1985 with the Two Turtle Doves, and continued through 1995. Each one is hand-cut Irish crystal, engraved with its scene, framed by a faceted, many-sided border, and dated with its year of issue. The 1989 ornament is Six Geese a-Laying, shown here with a goose on its nest in a wreath of holly leaves. Held up to the light, the cut edges sparkle like frost.
Every ornament arrives in its own presentation, a hinged red velvet box stamped with the Waterford name and seal, along with a velvet pouch for safekeeping. They’re a charming gift for a collector, a new bride, a new home, or anyone who loves the carol, and a lovely start to a tree of heirlooms that grows year by year.
Choose your ornament:
1980 Christmas Tree — a star-topped tree trimmed with ornaments
1983 Christmas Ball — a faceted ornament hanging from a bow, framed in holly
1985 Two Turtle Doves — a pair of doves with a heart between them, the Second Day of Christmas
1987 Four Calling Birds — four songbirds perched on branches, the Fourth Day of Christmas
1989 Six Geese a-Laying — a goose on its nest, wreathed in holly, the Sixth Day of Christmas
1990 Seven Swans a-Swimming — a graceful swan beneath holly leaves, the Seventh Day of Christmas
1991 Eight Maids a-Milking — a milkmaid carrying two pails, the Eighth Day of Christmas
1996 The Holy Family — the Nativity beneath a radiant star
Tucked inside every order, a little something for first time Tavola customers — a hand-finished vintage passport notebook. Note the piece, the moment, the person you gave it to. One day these pieces will sit in someone else's hands — and they'll know it came from yours.
