Bohemian Cranberry Overlay Glass Chalice Vase
A masterclass in Bohemian art glass, held in the hand.
This chalice-style pedestal vase is crafted in striking cranberry ruby glass overlaid on clear crystal, with cut-to-clear geometric panels that catch and bounce light from every angle. Raised hand-painted enamel florals are framed by heavy gold gilt scrollwork across the bowl, stem, and base. The form rises from a substantial pedestal foot through a waisted stem to a wide flared bowl finished with a scalloped sawtooth rim. The piece is open through the center, making it as functional as a vase as it is striking as a display object.
Styled in the distinct tradition of premier Czech glassmakers such as Moser or Egermann, though the piece is unmarked and a specific maker cannot be confirmed. Exceptional condition with rare absence of gilt loss or shelf wear.
Tucked inside every set, a little something for first time Tavola customers — a hand-finished vintage passport notebook. Note the piece, the moment, the person you gave it to. One day these pieces will sit in someone else's hands — and they'll know it came from yours.
